The jeep is the way to see Lake Batur and Mount Agung without a 02:00 hike. The vehicle is private to your group. Sunrise departs in the dark and runs six to seven hours door to door. Sunset is shorter, about four to five hours, and easier if you dislike early alarms.
Sit-in means you stay in the 4×4 until the viewpoint. Tracking means the same jeep plus a guided walk on an easier path — still not the sandy summit trail. Say which one you want. A natural hot spring stop can be added at $10 per person, with the entrance included.
How the session runs
Step 1
Hotel pickup
Sunrise starts in the dark. Sunset starts in the afternoon. The car is only your group.
Step 2
Rim road
You drive to a Penelokan / Kintamani viewpoint over the caldera.
Step 3
Viewpoint
Photos, a hot drink, and either the short tracking walk or time in the jeep.
Step 4
Meal and return
A sit-down meal, then the drive back to the hotel.
