The tandem rig is the way to share the course without buying two cars. The driver is responsible for the lap. The passenger stays belted and keeps hands inside the frame.
If both of you want to drive, book two single sessions or swap who is listed as driver and ask the marshal — swaps are only possible when the course allows a second briefing, so ask in the quote rather than assuming it.
