This is a sightseeing day on a scooter, not the Kintamani lava bike and not the Tabanan jungle enduro. Those are clutch bikes with their own gates. Here the guide meets you at the hotel with a 125–160cc automatic, fits the helmet, and rides ahead on their own bike for the rest of the day.
You pick one route. The Ubud loop stays in the rice terraces, Ulun Petanu, Gunung Kawi at Tampaksiring, Bali Umah Kuno, and the Monkey Forest. The waterfall loop is Kanto Lampo, Tibumana, Suwat, Tukad Cepung, and Tegenungan. Kintamani adds the caldera, Pura Jati Segara, Penglipuran, and Tukad Cepung, with a hot spring only if you want to pay the entrance yourself. South Bali is Tanah Lot, Uluwatu, Garuda Wisnu Kencana, and Melasti, with Kedonganan as an optional sunset dinner you buy. North Bali is Sangeh, Leke-Leke, the lake and temple at Bedugul, and Jatiluwih. East Bali is the long one: Tukad Cepung, Besakih, Tirta Gangga, Taman Ujung, and Virgin Beach.
Lunch is a warung stop on the route. You pay the warung. Temple, waterfall, and park tickets are the same: the scooter price does not open the gate. Tell us in the notes if a passenger is only riding pillion, and if you want to skip a stop that is closed that day.
How the session runs
Step 1
The guide meets the hotel
Scooters arrive at the hotel on the quote. Helmets are fitted, the route is confirmed, and the person driving shows a licence if they have it.
Step 2
Morning stops
You follow the guide. The first temples, terraces, or the coast are in this block, before the kitchen rush.
Step 3
Warung lunch
A local restaurant on the way. The meal is not in the scooter price. Say if you need a vegetarian table.
Step 4
The rest of the route
The remaining stops on the route you booked. A closed gate gets swapped for the next open one on that same route, not a different region.
Step 5
Back to the hotel
The guide rides with you to the same hotel. The day is about eight to ten hours door to door.
Bring
- A licence if you will drive, and an international driving permit if you have one
- Closed shoes and a layer for Kintamani or the north
- Sunscreen and a strap for glasses
- Cash for tickets, the warung, and a tip if you leave one
- A small bag that can sit under the seat or on your chest
Worth adding in the notes
- Say if anyone is pillion only, and name the hotel exactly as the driver should search it.
Who it suits
People who want a countryside or coast day and are happy on an automatic scooter, or happy sitting behind someone who is.
Skip this if you wanted the clutch dirt bikes at Kintamani or Tabanan, or a car with a driver and no helmet. Also skip it if nobody in the party will drive.
Ages: The person on the handlebars should be 17 or older and able to ride an automatic scooter. A passenger can ride pillion. Children as passengers are the driver’s and the guide’s call on the day.
Meeting point
There is no trailhead. The guide meets the hotel or villa written on the quote and returns you there. For timing from central Ubud we use the palace crossroads, about -8.5069, 115.2625.
