Why the Batur jeep belongs in the holiday week

It is the one sunrise on the list that nobody has to climb for. The jeep and the driver are private to your group, the rim is 60–75 minutes from Ubud, and pickup from Ubud, Canggu, Seminyak, Sanur, and Kuta is in the price. Tracking, with a short guided walk, is $54 each for two, $108 together. Sit-in, where you stay with the jeep, is $69 each for two, $138 together. The natural Batur hot spring adds $9 per person, entrance included. Bring a warm layer, because the rim is cold before sunrise.

A five-day plan for the end of the year

1. Day 1: arrive and rest. Holiday traffic from the airport is slow.
