The best sunrise: the private Mount Batur jeep
If the quad bike is the muddy morning, the Batur jeep is the view. It is your own 4×4 and driver, minimum two guests: up to the Penelokan rim for sunrise or sunset over Lake Batur and Mount Agung, then down onto the black lava field for photos on the rock. Tracking, with a short guided walk, is $54 each for two and $45 each for three or more. Sit-in, where you stay with the jeep, is $69 each for two and $57 each for three or more. A hot drink, a sit-down meal, and hotel pickup from Ubud, Canggu, Seminyak, Sanur, and Kuta are included. The sunset run is the same price, without the 02:00 alarm.

The best single day: one ATV plus a river
Ride the quad in the morning, then raft the Ayung or float the Wos after lunch. One ATV plus one river takes 10% off both sports, and adding both rivers takes 12% off three. Two people on single ATVs plus Ayung rafting pay $137, or $118 with a tandem. The $34 hotel shuttle, a private car whose driver waits, is charged once per booking and is never part of the discount.
